Need help with power chords (bass and guitar)

I put this in the bass and guitar sections, but they don't seem very active...

I'm no musician, I just don't have the skill, but I do have Mixcraft 4, and can simulate an instrument pretty well. For a song that I am making (Alternative or Punk Rock) I am looking for some power chords or regular chords for it. On the internet, all it shows is the frets and where to put your fingers, which doesn't help me, as I have to use a keyboard to insert the notes (I use my mouse to select how long I want it to play, I don't have any electronic equipment unfortunately, my parents decided that a regular old keyboard would work, and it doesn't),

I figured 3-5 (power) chords for electric guitar and bass would work, so if anyone could tell me what notes to use, that would be helpful.
